About Dr. Cannon

I love my work. I can’t tell you how many clients I have seen go from hopeless to happy! The satisfaction I get from helping my clients feel better is hard to describe. I have to admit, however, there is one thing I like even better. And that is to see our therapists help their clients to feel better! That is what The Cannon Institute is all about. We are here to create the next generation of excellent sex and gender therapists.

I taught my first sex therapy class to grad students in 2007. My late father taught college math. I guess I got dad’s teaching gene because I love to teach and mentor. I also love to create. I only have one way to look at things and that is how we can do therapy better. As such, I have created and written about many processes to make sex therapy more effective. We apply those processes here, woven in with the unique skill set that each therapist already has.
