Our gridlocked conflicts contain the potential for great intimacy between us. But we have to feel safe enough to pull our dreams out of the closet. When we wear them, our partner may glimpse how beautiful we are—fragile but shimmering. Then, with understanding, our partners may join us in being dream catchers, rather than dream shredders.

I believe in perfect faith that every person has an innate drive and ability to grow, especially when they are held up in compassion and provided with practical, evidence-based tools.
About Amity
After being a therapist for 23 years, I still find myself awestruck and inspired by the bravery and progress I see in my clients. Supporting individuals and couples in their journeys toward greater wellness, efficacy, and joy is the best way I can imagine spending my professional time. My clients come to me for a lot of reasons – to address anxiety and depression, resolve relationship conflict, and experience greater freedom and play in their sexual lives. Some of them even end up healing deep and traumatic experiences.
I help those clients process unresolved trauma to better regulate their reactions and change their behavior patterns. Some of my clients’ work doesn’t focus on trauma in any particular way, but it has been my experience that prior life events often have significant impact on our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. While I believe our formative experiences are impactful, I focus primarily on my client’s current goals and help them to overcome any internal and external barriers impeding their success.
I also have a specialty in sex therapy – it has been an area of interest since my career began. I specialize in trauma work, and EMDR, as well as sex addiction.
When I’m not at the office you will find me spending quality time with my children who are 22 and 28. It has been a great pleasure watching them grow into wonderful young adults. You might also find me in deep conversation with colleagues and/or friends discussing politics, movies, or how to change the world. This year I look forward to traveling and expanding my garden. Speaking of my garden, I get great pleasure from nurturing growth; be it within myself, my clients, or budding plants. I can’t wait to meet you!
